Fresh Theatre Guide

Write for us

Fresh Theatre Guide welcomes thoughtful pitches about the craft, language and experience of theatre. We look for clear ideas that give general readers a fresh way to understand a live performance or the choices that shape one.

What to pitch

Propose an original, focused story about playwriting, performance, design, rehearsal or audience experience. Useful angles explain a choice, compare approaches, trace a piece of theatre history, or help readers notice a specific feature of live storytelling. Keep the subject distinct from broad reviews and plot summaries.

What makes a strong pitch

Tell us the central question, the main point you would make and why it will interest a theatre-curious reader. Include a brief outline of the approach and mention relevant experience or sources you would draw on, without overstating either. A pitch should stand on its own and should not depend on unsupported claims, invented access or confidential information.

How to send it

Send proposals through the Contact page and select the editorial option. Please include your name, a way to reply, a working title and a concise description of the idea. A pitch is a proposal, not a promise of publication; we may ask questions or suggest a different angle.

Our point of view

A play is never only the words

Theatre is made in the meeting of text, performers, space and audience. Notice those connections and familiar scenes start to open up.
